2007 Wireless Survey
2007 BC Wireless Industry Survey
Every two years WINBC commissions a Wireless Industry Survey to find out where we stand: to show us where we are, where we've been and, perhaps, where we are heading.

The 2007 BC Wireless Industry Survey set out to find the answers to a host of questions:
  • Are we growing? Stagnating? Diversifying?
  • Are we investing enough in innovation? Is our performance improving?  What's our speed to market?
  • Are we able to find and keep talented people? Do we have the other resources and tools to compete in the fierce global wireless market?
  • How do we reach new markets and serve profitable customers?
  • What's important to the future of our industry? What kind of investment do we need to sustain our growth?
  • Are we creating the right environment to help our local small-and medium sized companies perform at a global level – in both consumer and enterprise markets?

BC now has some 500 companies in the wireless space, half directly involved in wireless technology and half in wireless-related businesses.   The industry employs nearly 6,000 well-educated people and annually generates more than $1 billion in revenues.

As you read this survey, you’ll find a great many more details about our industry – what we’re particularly good at, how broad our expertise is, and why the world should do business with us.

Thanks to all the companies who participated in the survey and to the other organizations – Wavefront, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Western Economic Diversification Canada – who supported it.
