Vancouver, BC, November 21, 2005 - The Wireless Innovation Network of BC announces today that it is gearing up for its third annual Wireless Innovation Contest (WIC'06) with lead sponsorship support from Lucent Technologies, Nokia and TELUS Mobility,. Winners of the contest will be awarded a mentor panel with industry leaders to be held at CTIA Wireless 2006, Apr 5 - 7, 2006. Call for entries will start on November 21, 2005.

"Now in our third year, we're looking for wireless innovations and solutions that help make our lives easier at work and at home," says Caroline Lewko, Chair of WINBC, the producer of WIC'06. "This focus will help reach our goals - to continue the adoption of wireless technologies in North America. Entrants are asked to provide a case study that clearly demonstrates the impact of their technology and to include the customer and partners that are part of the successful implementation."

The contest is open to American and Canadian wireless developers and solution providers that have deployed, and are creating, a wireless solution in one of six categories: taking care of business in the public and private sectors, taking care of yourself in home & entertainment and sports & recreation sub-categories, taking care of the community and student.

A panel of industry leaders will judge each entry and decide on a winner and runner-up in each category. Winners of WIC'06 are rewarded with targeted exposure in media and at trade shows, inclusion in a special case study publication and a one-hour mentor session with the panel of judges.

Entries from every corner of North America, including San Diego, New York, Vancouver and Dallas entered the second Wireless Innovation Contest in 2005. Winners of last year's contest were:
