WIRELESS INNOVATION CONTEST
WINBC Teams Up with Leading Marketing Partners to get the Word Out about Wireless Innovation Contest

Vancouver, BC, December 22, 2005 - The Wireless Innovation Network of BC, WINBC, has gained partnership support from influential media organizations that will help to publicize the Wireless Innovation Contest 2006, WIC'06. CTIA WIRELESS 2006, RCR Wireless News, FierceWireless.com, Outlook 4Mobility, CCN Matthews and SymbianOne have agreed to publish the entry deadline of January 30, 2006 and the eventual winners.

"This is the third year we're running this North American wireless adoption contest and it's going from strength to strength," comments Caroline Lewko, Chair of WINBC, the producer of WIC'06. "Bringing these media sponsors on board will help us make this our best year yet for entries and we're grateful to Outlook 4Mobility, FierceWireless.com, RCR Wireless News, CTIA WIRELESS 2006 and SymbianOne that they will announce the contest to their readers, and to CCN Matthews for distributing our announcements."

The contest is open to American and Canadian wireless developers and solution providers that have deployed, and are creating, a wireless solution in one of six categories: taking care of business in the public and private sectors, taking care of yourself in home & entertainment and sports & recreation sub-categories, taking care of the community and student. WIC'06 entrants will be expected to provide a proven return on investment for their deployment of wireless technologies in one of the above categories. Interested parties are invited to visit www.winbc.org/contest to enter.

A panel of independent judges will examine, evaluate and choose a winner and runner-up in each WIC'06 category. A benefit valued at $100,000, WIC'06 winners are rewarded with targeted exposure in media and at trade shows, inclusion in a special case study publication, and a one-hour mentor session with the panel of judges during CTIA WIRELESS 2006.

The WIC'06 awards will be announced during the CTIA Wireless show in Las Vegas April 5-7, 2006. Descriptions of the winning projects, their objectives and their accomplishments will be posted in a case study booklet in print and online, as well as in CTIA's trade show guide.

The third annual Wireless Innovation Contest (WIC'06) was launched on November 21, 2005 with key sponsors Lucent Technologies, Nokia and TELUS Mobility. The entry deadline is January 30, 2006.
