Tranzeo Wireless Introduces its EnRoute500 Dual Radio Outdoor Wireless Mesh Router
April 26, 2007--Tranzeo Wireless Technologies (TSX:TZT), a leading producer of high-performance wireless broadband communication systems, has introduced the EnRoute500 patented dual radio outdoor wireless mesh router.
"EnRoute500 devices self-assemble to form a wireless mesh network via a dedicated 802.11a mesh-enabled radio that supports wireless voice, video and data communications," said Tranzeo Wireless President and CEO Jim Tocher. The device's 802.11b/g radio serves as an access point providing connectivity to Wi-Fi client devices within range and this dual radio structure maximizes throughput by separating client access from the mesh backhaul channel.
"The ability to offer a true mesh solution in our line up of products allows our company to compete in the growing municipal mesh marketplace around the world," said Tocher.
Unity Wireless Receives Forecast Increase to $1.2 Million & First Production Orders From Fortune 500 Wireless Manufacturer
April 26, 2007--Unity Wireless (OTC BB:UTYW.OB) today announced that it has received the first production purchase order of a $1,200,000 forecasted series of orders from one of the largest US tier-one wireless manufacturers. This order, for one of Unity's existing production high power amplifiers (HPA), is scheduled to be delivered in several shipments over the next eleven months.
In its November 14, 2006 release, "Another North American Tier-One Equipment Manufacturer Chooses Unity Wireless," the company announced that it had completed development on a new HPA and had been selected to provide an initial 90 units for field trials. At that time, 2007 production volumes were estimated to be $700,000 - $1,000,000.
Today's announcement is the result of: the success of these initial field units, the placement of the first production order for the new HPA, and the increased forecast by a leading US wireless manufacturer to a total of $1,200,000 over the next 11 months.
AT&T Adds Sierra Wireless USB Modem to LaptopConnect Portfolio
April 25, 2007--Sierra Wireless (NASDAQ: SWIR - TSX: SW) today announced the Sierra Wireless AirCard 875U USB modem will be available from AT&T, offering high-speed BroadbandConnect network connectivity in a small, easy-to-use device that connects to a USB port.
Like the Sierra Wireless AirCard 875 LaptopConnect card, the AirCard 875U USB modem offers tri-band UMTS/HSDPA connectivity, making it compatible with mobile broadband networks worldwide, with data speeds up to 3.6 Mbps (megabits per second). The new compact, stylish USB form factor allows AT&T to extend wireless service to computers without PC card slots.
"Adding the Sierra Wireless AirCard 875U USB modem to our LaptopConnect card portfolio enables us to deliver mobile data service to a broader group of customers, including some who previously had no way of accessing it," said Laura Johnson, senior director, wireless enterprise solutions, for AT&T. "The AirCard 875U modem is a one device, one rate plan global solution that provides worldwide 3G connectivity in a familiar USB format that is simple to set up and use and works with virtually any notebook."
