Wireless and New Media Showcase and Service

Next February, Vancouver will host the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. Millions of visitors and thousands of media and business representatives from around the world will be in Vancouver before, during, and after the event, bringing with them millions of wireless devices. Never before has an Olympic event offered visitors wireless tools to enhance their experience during their time on the ground in a host city.

This initiative seizes the unprecedented opportunity to Showcase innovative wireless and new media technologies in the region and to provide locals and visitors with a Service that will enhance their experience in Vancouver.

It is a joint, industry lead initiative of WINBC and New Media BC consisting of two components: a focused Showcase and a targeted Service, both aimed at the non-accredited media, business delegates and other visitors.

How it works

Companies and individuals selected to participate will be required to make an in-kind donation of employee hours to the project. And although there is no mandatory monetary cost involved for selected participants, as an industry lead initiative, it is expected that some companies will make a cash contribution to the project.
